What are the Best Daily Supplements for Health?

Learn what the best supplements are to take on a daily basis. The order of some of these has slightly changed over the years since it was initially made.

The order now is the following:

  1. Vitamin D
  2. Omega-3 Fatty Acids
  3. Magnesium
  4. Multivitamin and Micronutrients
  5. Coenzyme Q10

Video Transcript: Best Daily Supplements

Hello. My name is Dr. Bryan Royer and I’m here to give you some Healthy Hints for Harmony. Today’s topic is about the best daily supplements for you to take. Now, there are basically five supplements that are gonna be the most important ones for somebody to take on a daily basis. And the first one is gonna be a multivitamin or a multi. I personally think that it’s best for somebody to take a whole food multivitamin, because I think that it is better to get a vitamin in the form that’s made by a plant or how it occurs naturally, as opposed to what’s made in a test tube.

Basically. Most of the B vitamins are made from cold tar. And other things like vitamin C is made by reacting sulfuric acid and corn syrup. And they basically make powders and they kind of mash it up into something that comes into multivitamin. And I don’t personally think that is as good, but I do think that a multivitamin is one thing that somebody should get.

The second most important thing that someone should get is fish oil or the EPA and DHA. And that is important for multiple different reasons. There’s been many studies that show that is beneficial from whether or not it comes from brain health or heart health or any of those other standpoints. So fish oil is actually a very important thing as well.

Another thing to take is magnesium citrate. Magnesium citrate is one of the better versions to take there’s other ones that are available like magnesium carbonate and stuff like that. But magnesium citrate is gonna be one of the better versions to take in order to make sure that you stay healthy. Magnesium is one of those things that’s actually used by over 200 different reactions in the body and we don’t necessarily get enough of it on a daily basis. And it also has the tendency to act as a natural muscle relaxant.

The only problem is is that you do have to be careful when taking magnesium because it does cause loose stools, if you are not careful with it. So that’s something that you have to titrate, and you should talk to somebody before you start to add that on how the best way to actually do that is.

The next thing thats very important is vitamin D3. A lot of times with vitamin D3, you should have a test beforehand to see whether or not you are deficient or insufficient in vitamin D, but then you should supplement based on how deficient that you are, which a great majority of people in the U.S. actually are deficient in vitamin D. But it depends on your body weight on how much of that that you should take. So again, that’s something that you should consult your healthcare provider on.

And then the last one in the first group of five is something called Coenzyme Q10. A lot of people have heard of this, and this is actually one of the better antioxidants for you to take. And it is involved in multiple different things as well, and it will help you to deflame your body, and basically decrease that chronic inflammation that we get.

So to recap, basically, the five things that you should take and this is basically regardless of the situation that you’re looking at is a multivitamin and multi mineral, preferably whole food, a fish oil supplement, magnesium citrate, vitamin D3 and Coenzyme Q10.
